The Community Medical Center Emergency Department is a community trauma facility serving adult and pediatric patients in Missoula & Ravalli Counties and is a transfer center for facilities across western Montana that need the specialized expertise that Community offers. The Emergency Department is dedicated to rapid interventions and has designations as a pediatric prepared facility and Western Montana's only Chest Pain Center.
Community Medical Center is an accredited Chest Pain Center awarded by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Accreditation Services.

Pediatric Emergency Care
Our emergency department physicians are supported by team of board-certified pediatric specialists that includes pediatric hospitalists, pediatric critical care physicians, a pediatric pulmonologist, a pediatric surgeon and a pediatric gastroenterologist, to name a few.We know emergency rooms can be scary, so we strive to make every child’s emergency room experience as smooth as possible. Our specially designated pediatric prepared emergency department physicians and nurses are experts in pediatric emergency care and are supported by pediatric specialists such as a pediatric surgeon, pediatric orthopedic surgeon, pediatric sedation / anesthesiologist & pediatric pulmonologist just to name a few. If necessary, Community Children's provides dedicated pediatric inpatient and pediatric intensive care units to care for infants to young adults.

Our Emergency Department is located on South Avenue and has a dedicated entrance with convenient parking. If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency, call 911.
- From Reserve Street, go west on South Avenue.
- Look for the signage that will direct you to the Emergency Department parking.
- Do not enter the main hospital entrance off Fort Missoula Road
Expansion and Remodel Coming in 2022
We have begun to renovate and expand the emergency department to better serve the community. As the population grows in and around Missoula, so does the need for healthcare services. The Emergency Department will remain open to care for patients during construction. The completion date is expected in 2022.
